NSW:NSW gets an Online Court from today

The NSW justice system will now start dealing with some preliminary criminal matters online.

The Local Court of NSW will start with the online service .. which should increase
the efficiency of the justice system from today.

Attorney General JOHN HATZISTERGOS has announced the Online Court will enable parties
to case manage administrative matters via the internet .. and be alerted by email when
there's a development.

Online Court will be trialled in the Downing Centre Local Court over the next 12 months
.. and rolled out to other courts if successful.

Mr HATZISTERGOS says the message board will be accessible 24-hours-a-day .. seven-days-a-week
.. which will encourage the prosecution and the defence to communicate outside of the
courtroom.
